TRADE SCENARIOS FOR DONOVAN MITCHELL

As everyone knows the Utah Jazz once again came up short in the postseason and once again talks about splitting up the Mitchell-Gobert duo have begun. As of right now nothing has officially has been reported of Utahs plans to split up either, but I am in 'agreeance' with majority of the NBA world with the opinion it is time to make some huge changes, if possible. Taking into account Mitchell's postgame interview stating he 'he just wants to win' this offseason could be interesting.

1. MIAMI HEAT

This is probably the most common team linked to Donovan Mitchell especially with the connection Dwyane Wade and everything but I honestly think this is one of the best situations Mitchell could come into. Obviously the package would be centered around Herro and Robinson but it begs the question if Miami would want to do that. Miami rarely makes big trades, they usually acquire guys through free agency and draft. But Mitchell being a six foot shooting guard has me curious to what team/market would be out there for him. Having Lowry, Butler, Adebayo, etc surrounding Mitchell would be the best for him. I am iffy about a Mitchell trade to begin with but this is one team I am certain it could work in. But at the same time I would not be surprised if Miami just kept Herro and let him excel in that 6th man role.

 2. NEW YORK KNICKS

This is a toss up to me, but like I said earlier trades are hard especially for a player like Donovan. But after a disastrous season the Knicks had after coming off being the 4th seed the previous year New York will probably be making changes as well this series. If I am the Knicks I am doing whatever I can to have a RJ-Donovan backcourt for years to come. Now no matter what package I can draw up the return package is probably going to be less but in the event by chance Utah trades both stars I see Utah a destination for Donovan.

And that is about it I can realistically think about. Teams like the Blazers, Cavs, and Hawks already have a tiny point guard so it makes no sense to pair that with another small shooting guard. Mitchell is obviously great but he is a shooting guard and not a point guard at 6'1. Plenty of teams also just already have a shooting guard I think they would rather keep. And with Spida's wish to win, I think he just may find himself back in Utah next season.
