GRADING EVERY TEAMS NBA TRADE DEADLINE: EASTERN CONFERENCE
February 10th and leading up to the deadline was very busy across the association. With rumors flying and teams making moves looking to improve I can say it was a good day all around with a lot of moves I look forward to talking about. As for "criteria", I only ask how do each team improve from each trade and did it make sense.

SERGE TO MILWAUKEE (C+)
Bucks Acquisitions: Serge Ibaka, two Detroit second rounders
Bucks Departures: Semi Ojeyele, Rodney Hood, and Donte DiVincenzo
Starting off with the Milwaukee Bucks, involved in a four team deal with Sacramento, Clippers, and Detroit they send off Donte DiVincenzo who was a quality starter who was recovering off an injury which could come back to bite them a bit but with Milwaukee having Grayson Allen and George Hill they still have quality guard depth. As for Ibaka as long as he can stay healthy he should be a solid 3&d big next to Giannis.

C'S GET DERRICK WHITE (A)
Celtics Acquisitions: Derrick White and Daniel Theis, Orlando second rounder
Celtics Departures: Bol Bol, PJ Dozier, second rounder, Dennis Schroder, Bruno Fernando, Enes Freedom, Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, 2022 first rounder
Boston makes one of my favorite and underrated trades of the deadline acquiring a quality combo guard in Derrick White who helps the Celtics playmaking problem and helps Boston with their already great defense they have been playing lately. White is also under contract for the next three seasons on a relatively good deal as well considering his player value. Celtics also bring back defensive big man Daniel Theis having three quality big men in Al Horford, Robert Williams, and now Theis. With the Celtics currently being red hot--only four games back of the one seed in the east-- I love these moves for Boston and I am excited to see White mesh well in Bean town.
Nets Acquisitions: Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, two sixer firsts
Nets Departures: James Harden, Paul Millsap
The Brooklyn Nets make the biggest trade by far as they headline NBA trade deadline day trading away James Harden for Ben Simmons. I have to say for the Brooklyn side of things this could turn out amazing. Having some of the best shooters in Seth Curry, Joe Harris when he comes back, KD, and Kyrie all around Simmons when he is on the court sounds amazing. You can throw in Patty Mills this season as well. Now this trade and its grade obviously decreases or increases significantly all depending on the Ben Simmons we get the rest of this season and going into the postseason and next season. If Ben is aggressive and has his head down and is a menace on both sides of the floor the trade should work out well. But if Ben is still afraid to shoot and not being aggressive the Nets will have a huge problem still. But on paper on least Ben Simmons as a potential small ball five and next to Kevin Durant in general sounds like it could work.

MO TOWN MARVIN (B)
Pistons Acquisitions: Marvin Bagley
Pistons Departures: Trey Lyles, Josh Jackson, two second rounders
After almost taking a chance on Bol Bol but the trade falling out, the Pistons take a chance on Kings big man Marvin Bagley III while not giving up too much. I for one am still a believer in Bagley being a quality big men and at least being able to be a 15 and 10 guy when used correctly and playing with first overall pick Cade Cunningham who is a good playmaker should help out Bagleys game a lot.

THAD TO TORONTO (C+)
Raptors Acquisitions: Thaddeus Young, Drew Eubanks, '22 Pistons second rounder
Raptors Departures: Goran Dragic, Toronto '22 first rounder (protected 1-14, protected 1-13 in 2023, turning into future seconds)
A pretty underrated move for Toronto getting a versatile serviceable forward and veteran in Thad Young for a Dragic who had been playing much for them and a first. The Raptors currently sit at the 6th seed and have been red hot lately and this move adds to their want to continue to keep the hot streak up. While I rather Toronto go for a big man with size which is their biggest need, Thad can play small ball five depending on the matchup and be a great defender and ball distributor for Toronto.

PHILLY GETS THE BEARD (B+)
Sixers Acquisitions: James Harden, Paul Millsap
Sixers Departures: Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, Two first rounders
Darryl Morrey complets another blockbuster trade deal acquiring James Harden at the deadline to pair with Joel Embiid. Other than losing the teams best shooter in Seth Curry I see this as a good trade for Philly. As long as Harden can semi go back to his Houston days being more aggressive of a scorer while still not getting two much in the way of Embiid, but obviously with two superstars comes a lot of sacrifices. So I am ready to see which star will sacrifice the most for the greater good. With Embiid's injury history and now with Harden having hamstring problems the championship window is obviously right now, and getting James Harden for Simmons who was mentally checked out of Philly for a while now is a good trade for them.

HORNETS GET TREZZ (C+)
Hornets Acquisitions: Montrezl Harrell
Hornets Departures: Vernon Carey, Ish Smith
Charlotte completes a deal for Montrezl Harrell essentially for nothing since Ish Smith did not get much pt. The biggest need for the Hornets at the deadline definitely was a defensive big men, and while Trezz is a big man he is not known as a defender. I love this move as a low risk high reward type deal for them since Harrell is better than the Hornets previous starting center, Mason Plumlee. But as Charlotte continues their trend of small ball play Harrell will fit in perfectly on offensive being a great lob threat.

PORZINGIS TO WASHINGTON(C+)
Wizards Acquisitions: Kristaps Porzingis, Ish Smith, Vernon Carey
Wizards Departures: Montrezl Harrell, Spencer Denwiddie, Davis Bertans
Washington makes one of the more shocking trades that came out of completely nowhere. While at face value Porzingis is a better player than Spencer, Washington still has a huge logjam at the forward position. Kuzma--who has been playing great this year-- has to play out of position at the three with all the front court players Washington has. And with Porzingis not really being a center though being 7'3 the fit will be interesting. But I do like Washington trying something new here and now having a bit of a new dynamic as they have cooled off since their great start to the season.

PACERS GET HALIBURTON(A+)
Pacers Acquisitions: Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Jalen Smith, Tristan Thompson, Ricky Rubio, CLE '22 first, Hou '22 second, Utah '27 second, phx future second
Pacers Departures: Domantas Sabonis, Caris LaVert, Torrey Craig, MIA '22 second
The Pacers make one of if not the best move of the deadline getting young star Tyrese Haliburton for Sabonis as they finally look to rebuild and retool. Getting veterans such as Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson is great for them as well with a young guy like Jalen Smith. With a couple valuable picks as well without even trading Brogdon or Turner yet the Pacers start to this retool looks great already.

CAVS GET CARIS (B-)
Cavaliers Acquisitions: Caris LeVert, MIA '22 second rounder
Cavaliers Departures: Ricky Rubio, Protected first, two Utah seconds
Cavs make one of the more expected moves just before the deadline in getting Caris LeVert as they desperately needed another shot creator alongside Darius Garland. Also giving the Cavs another pick and roll guy to set up the Cavs big men. With Caris being 27 he can be another seasoned vet for the Cavs and look at him in clutch time to create a good look. Though it will be interesting to see how Cleveland decides to extend LeVert this summer while also having Sexton enter restricted free agency and having Garland, Mobley and Okoro's extensions coming up soon as well.
Heat Departures: KZ Okpala
Miami makes this trade freeing up a roster spot now potentially to acquire someone from the buyout market. Okpala never played really for Miami and now could maybe get an opportunity with young Oklahoma. Heat also get a second rounder which could be thrown in as a sweetener to a future trade possibly.
