MY TOP 10 POINT GUARDS IN THE LEAGUE

Disclaimer: As the title says it is my top 10 list. Any player or team ranking would always be a debate and disagreement, which i'm proudly open to. Ranking is based off last season. As for positions I let ESPN.com decide that.

10. JRUE HOLIDAY

One of if not the best perimeter defenders in the league, Jrue Holiday. Coming off an nba championship just days later going on to play in the USA Olympics and winning a gold medal in todays load management and rest heavy league should be very appreciated. His offensive game for being such a great defender isn't bad. An underrated passer at his position and though his offense can be very inconsistent when he's on, he’s on.

9. RUSSELL WESTBROOK

The Brodie. May seem low since counting stat wise averaging a triple double on a season basis and being one of my favorite players to watch but I have him at 9. Motor is always on 10 and one of the best playmakers in the league. The narrative around Russ is that he does not know how to win when it matters the most but he now has a chance to prove himself being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

8. JA MORANT

One of my favorite players and people in the league Ja Morant. Everyone talks about how much of a bad three point shooter Morant is but he's a winner. There’s value in being a winner. Despite not having Jaren Jackson Jr for majority of the season the Grizzlies were still a respectable team led by Ja Morant. He also stepped up under the brightest lights in the play in series and in his first playoff series against the 1 seed Utah Jazz.

7. DE'AARON FOX

Swipa is one of the most underwatched if thats a word point guards in the league due to playing in a small market and bad management in Sacramento. As most sophomores are Fox was a candidate for most improved, top three in his sophomore season. He's one of the best passers in the league. If his jumpshot can develop to at least league average one day he will be much higher. But for now he's still one of the most skilled finishers I've watched.

6. CHRIS PAUL

Coming off his first NBA Finals appearance I have CP at 6. At this stage in his career being 36 years of age he will not be the stat sheet stuffer he was in his prime but he is still one of the best defenders and passers in the league. Chris Paul is one of those rare players that does not need to drop 50 points to have a great impact on a game and that should be talked about more.

5. KYRIE IRVING

Kyrie just had a 50/40/90 season averaging almost 27 points per game. The most overhated person in the league in my opinion. He's been on that edge of elite efficiency several seasons in his career. One of the most unguardable players in the league. Some nights he's much much higher. A must watch player and one of the best skilled the game has ever seen.

4. TRAE YOUNG

Ice Trae shocking the NBA world just at 22 years old leading his team all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals and put up a great fight against the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks. Just one of the best offensive players in the league as a 6 foot guard. His playmaking is one of if not the best in the league. I wouldn’t even mind him a spot higher just how great of an offensive player he is but I'll save that for next season.

3. DAMIAN LILLARD

Dame Dolla at 3 not much need to be said about 'em as a player except he really needs to get out of Portland if he wants to be successful. Do not blame him as a person staying loyal to the team that drafted him though. Coming off great scoring season after great scoring season he is probably my pick for the scoring title next year if he stays in PO.

2. LUKA DONCIC

One of the most polarizing players in the league who I'm excited to watch for the next 10-15 years in Luka. Elite scorer, passer, and great rebounder for his position. At age 22 on pace to be a generational great, just needs some help in Dallas for once.

1. STEPHEN CURRY

No explanation is really necessary, it's Wardell Stephen Curry. Winning the scoring title this past season doing all he can for the Warriors in an attempt to will them into the playoffs. I hope someone is documenting Curry's workouts for later.
